Question: Do you have any emergency housing?
DCHA does not have emergency housing. Community Action Agency (CAA) is the main agency for homeless services in Delaware County. They have two (2) locations. 511 Welsh Street Chester, PA 19013 610-874-8451 or 892 Main Street Darby, PA 19023 610-583-9133. An emergency shelter directory is available at DCHA upon request.
DCHA checks the credit of all Public Housing applicants before offering them a unit just like many private Landlords. DCHA does this to be certain that an applicant has a history of paying debts on time before we offer a unit for rent. We suggest that immediately upon applying for housing you begin to correct or establish good credit. This will be impor tant whether you are applying for Public Housing or the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Question: Will I be reminded to update my application annually?
DCHA will send a notice reminding you to update your application thirty (30) days prior to your original application date. If you do not up date your application by your original application date your application will be withdrawn. |
